Welcome to the Menai Bridge Town Community Website
The Town Council, created in 1974 following the merger of the former Urban District Council with similar authorities on Anglesey, is a lively forum for the expression of local opinion and represents the heartbeat of the community of Menai Bridge.
Regular meetings of the 15 town council members take place twice a month at Canolfan Tysilio in Wood Street, Menai Bridge, presided over by the Town Mayor or Chair of the General Purposes Committee, with back-up from the Town Clerk, Finance Officer and outside workforce.
The Council has direct responsibility for a number of amenity areas, among them being Coed Cyrnol, Belgian Promenade looking onto the Menai Strait, the Bowling Green & gardens, the Recreation Ground – as well as the Cemetery.
Regular lines of contact are maintained between the Menai Bridge Town Council and departments at the Isle of Anglesey County Council. Regular contact is maintained between the County Planning Authority and other regulatory bodies near Menai Bridge.
